Simariyiri emerged overall champions of Bole District Juvenile Volleyball Competition.

The 5th edition of the Bole District Juvenile Volleyball Gala which took place from Saturday to Sunday at Makumah saw Simariyiri becoming the overall Champion having won the U-13 boys and U-15 girls trophies.

With Seripe winning the U-15 boys’ category whiles Mandari won the U-13 13 girls’ trophy.

Meanwhile, Maluwe also took home the well-behaved team trophy.

Simariyiri was therefore crowned the overall champions of the completion that was witnessed by a lot of dignaries including the national Volleyball team manager Mr Baba Iddrisu and his abled Technical Director Mr Banjamin Tetey.

The two whom were in the District for their second time in less four months.

Mr Baba in his speech urged all players to continue to train hard. He also stated that the regional Volleyball Competition where players will be selected for zonal Competition to enable the national officers to assemble a team for the All African Games will comence soon.

The team manager reiterated that Savannah Region and for that Bole would surely have players in the national side during the 2023 All African Games in Accra, Ghana.

Certificates were given to derseving players. Awusi Ahmed of Seripe Mighty Fingers was adjudged the best under 15 boys best player for the second consecutive tournament while Kayitey Ragina also won the female Category for the second time.

Kassim Salia of Seripe and Mahama Zanabu of Mandari won the U-13 boys and girls best male and female players respectively.

In all, six communities namely; Makumah, Dabouyiri, Simariyiri, Mandari, Seripe and Maluwe took part in the two-day competition which was nearly marred by the continuous down pour of rain on Saturday.

The 6th edition is scheduled to take place in December 2021 at Seripe.
