The Executive Director of Nasco Feeding Minds, an NGO with its headquarters based in Sawla has commissioned two Information Communication Technology (ICT) laboratories containing 70 desktops computers at Fianso M/ A school and Techiman St. Paul and St. Francis schools to aid in the effective and efficient teaching of ICT as a practical subject.

The ICT laboratories forms part of the broader vision of the NGO initiative to intensify ICT education in the country as well as encourage the youth to participate in the technology world.

The laboratories are meant to train and make ICT skills and techniques common to everyone, leaving no one behind.

Mr Seidu Nuhu Banasco, Executive Director of Nasco Feeding Minds, commissioning the projects said the capacity building was the most important component of digitization and the need to equip institutions with the requisite tools to train students to gain the required knowledge relevant to technology in the society.

He called on the pupils to make the use of technology a necessity and utilize the skills obtained.

According to Banasco,he was born and bred in Fianso/Techiman and gladly said it was good to be back home.

”Growing up, I have always had the zeal of giving back to others in any way small or much. Nasco Feeding Minds NGO was birth from that zeal alongside my brother Osman with the mandate to curb the youth from embarking on illegal migration through unapproved ways”.he said.

This has been sphere headed with initiatives such as bee keeping, tree planting, volunteering, and establishment of ICT labs.

According to biggest driving force of the NGO has been to provide as many labs as possible in communities through notable partnerships in the Sawla District.

The need has been to spread our wings across and it is now the due turn of Techiman/ Fianso, he noted.

He added that statistics brings their total number of established labs as 12, servicing beneficiary communities and GB Foods, Cisco our platinum partners have made this more than feasible with the great amount of support.

“Today what we are witnessing here is to launch the 13th/14th Lab here in Techiman/ Fianso, the initiative is to enable our children, the future leaders of tomorrow´s world be equipped with competitive advantage on technology and to have access to skills in the ICT processes”, Banasco stated.

He furthered that the world is evolving at a fast rate with digital evolution at its forefront as they do their part by launching and handing over to the communities ICT Labs.

He also thanked GB Foods, cisco, stakeholders and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to the projects fruition.
