Chipo Kwaku of of Yagbon radio in Bole of the Savannah Region has been adjudged Journalist of the Year 2022 at this year’s Northern Radio Awards.
The event, was held on Saturday at Wuripe and Sons Royal Lodge on the theme “Radio,the truth herald voicing with authencity the northern story”..
In a speech, Mr Chipo expressed gratitude to his management and colleagues for providing the needed support that had resulted in the production of impactful stories.
Despite recent developments which indicated that press freedom was under threat, he said, he was committed as a journalist to boldly and professionally put duty-bearers on their toes.
He pledged to use his position and platform to amplify the voices of the vulnerable and needy in society to enable them to contribute effectively to nation building.
The prestigious awards scheme which is geared toward awarding hard-working radio personalities for their immense contributions recorded a successful event.
