Government has opened a Business Resource Centre in the Savannah Regional capital, Damongo, to support the needs of businesses in the Micro and Small Enterprises ( MSE) sector.

The centre was established under the Rural Enterprises Programme of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, with funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and International Fund for Agricultural Development Fund (IFAD).

Speaking on Yagbon Radio morning show” Tea cup” on Thursday, November 05, 2020, Mr Mohammed Harris, Marketing Manager of the Centre noted that the objective of establishing the Business Resource Centre was to provide a one-stop enterprise support centre to deliver a broad range of business development services to potential and existing entrepreneurs and enterprises.

He explained that the Business Resource Centre will also operate as financial and investment facilitation hub and business information repositories for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Mr. Harris, urged the people in and around the Region to make optimal use of the facility and consult the experts recruited to the Business Resource Centre for support to start and grow their businesses.

He noted that the economies of advanced countries are resilient because of the formulation and implementation of deliberate policies geared towards supporting small, medium and large-scale industries.

He expressed optimism that the Business Resource Centre would go a long way to strengthen private industries due to level of expertise and logistics within the centre .

He mentioned the support services to MSMEs to include training in management and entrepreneurship; business counselling and advisory services; preparation of business plans; facilitating access to financial services and credit; and facilitating access to markets.

He also advised individuals and other business ventures not to hesitate in accessing business advisory services from the centre to ensure the sustainability and development of their businesses .

The Business Resource Centre is under the direct administration of the National Board for Small Scale Industries,NBSSI.

The NBSSI was established by an Act of the Parliament of the Third Republic of Ghana ( Act 434 of 1981).

Mr Harris said the Business Resource Centre would serve all the districts in the Savannah Regions and urged all potential business men to register with the centre at a fee of 50 Ghana cedis.
