Opinion is divided on the future direction of the opposition National Democratic Congress, in the Sawla- Tuna-Kalba constituency as the party gears up for the next general elections.

The NDC in the constituency and the entire nation will elect new officers to lead the party for the next four years and, there is a hot race for the communication officer position in the constituency.

Kipo Elijah Bakari, is in a hot race to retain his position as he faces stiff competition for his position from two strong candidates who had so far declared their intentions.

Opposing him for his position is his current deputy communication officer, Ebaltey John, who is promising a new direction and leadership for the Party in the constituency ahead of the next national elections.

John,is promising to bring on board a new flavour that would ginger the party faithful and attract new members in the quest to wrestle power from the ruling New Patriotic Party in the next general elections in Ghana.

Kipo Elijah Bakari , who is seeking a second term as the mouth piece of the constituency, however, remains popular among the voters and is optimistic of winning the contest for a second time.

He is campaigning on continuity and, urging delegates to retain him to complete his unfinished assignment by ensuring that the NDC wins power in the 2024 general elections.

A third aspiring candidate, Ankaara Issah Hamza is also popular on the ground and has been campaigning on change within the constituency make it more vibrant to the electoral system to attract and bring in more youthful party members.

The stage is therefore set for an uncompromising contest for the communication officer position of the NDC in the Sawla – Tuna- Kalba in the Savannah region with the race being described as too close to call by election observers.
