Two suspected fulani kidnappers have been arrested on Thursday, 27th February, 2020 at Digma by a joint security operation in the central Gonja district of the Savannah region.

The two suspects Adama Kore 30years and Sajuo Baa 25years were arrested by the joint security over the recent kidnapping which lead to the death of one person and another in critical condition at the Tamale teaching hospital.

The DCE for central Gonja Mustapha Mahama who is also the chairman for DISEC spoke on behalf of the security said, the recent kidnapping among the fulanis in Digma is sad, he said the fulani kidnappers demand huge sum of monies from GH 5,000 to 20,000 from family members of the victims before releasing them.

According to the DCE this is not the first time of kidnapping in the area, and assured residents in central Gonja to have trust in the security over the kidnapping.

The chief of Digma, Digmawura A. Ewutomah Kanamu thanked the security for the good work done after the arrest of the two suspects and appealed to residents especially the fulani’s to report anybody who threaten or commit a crime.

Ewutomah, again appeals to the government for a security post in the area to help beef up the security .
