A diplomat , Mahama Amantana Yahaya, has declared his intention to contest the National Democratic Congress parliamentary primaries in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency of the Savannah Region.
He intends to lead a rejuvenation drive to build a strong base for the opposition party “to bring back the zeal and passion that greets the black, red, white and green” colours in the Constituency.
“I have hunted rats and chased lizards with many of you and I understand the issues and challenges confronting our people in the constituency too well to address them for an impactful life”,he stated in a communique.
According to him, his clear appreciation of the world politics will reflect in a leadership that will harmonize religious, traditional, ethnicity and gender related issues in attaining the aspirations of the constituents.
‘As a son of the Constituency with a DNA of the NDC, I have always carried the party and the interest of my people with me where ever I go. Like a political magnate, I served the interest of my people and party in Tamale Polytechnic when I became the representative of Ghana National Union of Polytechnic Students (GNUPS) in 2002. I have always prioritized Bole-Bamboi constituency above all others for two main reasons; it is the constituency of my career benefactor and role model, H.E John Dramani Mahama and a place that gave me light and life as a humble son of the soil who hails from royalty (Sarfope gate) in the Bole Traditional Area”, he stated.
He reiterated that the contest is a contest of ideas that should seek to foster party unity, bring progress and impact positively in the lives of our people.
This election is not what will change my humility, civility, diplomacy and respectful tenets and courtesies that I am known by and have extended to all in life, he added.
He maintained that, the diplomatic tenets with which he served in many endeavours coupled with my global experience will not fade.
Mr Amantana Yahaya therefore urged all to come onboard to execute this “success project” as stakeholders as it requires a collaborated effort to see the positive change that we all desire.
