Price of bread is expected to increase in Bole and it’s environs as bakers complain of hikes in cost of ingredients.

According to the secretary of the Bole District Bread Bakers Association, he said, the price of flour and sugar has increased astronomically, hence the intended increment.

Other ingredients such as margarine, eggs and salt have also increased.

According to the Bakers Association, in a statement released and signed by the secretary, Mr Seidu Dawuda says the price increment will take effect in April, 1, 2021.

He said the decision was arrived during their general meeting held on 23rd, March, 2021, taking into consideration the high increase in prices of bread production items which has resulted in a high cost of bread production.

The new prices are as follows: Tea bread GH 3:00 Cedis and beyond, Butter bread GH 4:00 Cedis and beyond, Sugar bread GH 4:00 Cedis and beyond and brown bread GH 3:00 Cedis and beyond.

The Bread Bakers Association through the statement appealed to all customers to bear with them in order to sustain the business.
